Seymour Marine Discovery Center

The Seymour Marine Discovery Center

Gil wanted to touch everything he could get his hands on. He's holding a shark egg sack thingy ( I forgot what it was called, but there's one type of shark that hatches out of it).

A dolphin! He was so cute. He'd just bob up and down, over and over.

A blue whale skeleton....so huge.

Will sticking his head in an elephant seal mouth...

...Now putting Gil inside.

Coast Drive

After LA we went up to Santa Cruz to visit my sister Brook. We took the coast road most of the way....which was way way way too long! Luckily, it was a beautiful drive.

LA Temple and Marina Del Rey

Will's apartment for work was located in Marina Del Rey, right next to the marina.

View from the balcony.

View from the pier.

Gil loved looking at the ocean...he thinks it's pretty cool

L.A.!

Will went to L.A. for works for a couple of weeks so we went and hung out with his family down there. It was lots of fun. We went to the beach, visited family we'd never met before, Gil got to meet a ton of cousins. We also decided to drive up the coast and visit my sister Brook in Santa Cruz....long drive, but very beautiful.

Happy Birthday Grandpa Ralph!
He was singing Happy Birthday to himself...it was cute.

Cowboy Gil.

We took Gil up to the Morgan County Fair a couple weeks ago. It was lame. Gil even thought it was lame. After seeing a few of the animals he fell asleep. But atleast he was cute in his cowboy hat.

Mohawk!

He sits.

well technically...only when he is holding on to the grass or sitting in someone's lap. I can't believe how much this little man loves the grass. Most babies scream when you put them on the grass, but Gil grabs for it and tries to eat it.

Serious, Silly, Curious, Stubborn, Happy

Serious, Silly, Curious, Stubborn, Happy...those all describe Gil. I love my little man, aka the spit-up-kid. He makes me laugh all the time. Just a few minutes ago he woke up and started crying, so I went to check on him. I go in there and he had unwrapped himself from his blanket and his binky had fallen out. As I put his binky back in he squeals in delight and then instantly passes out. It was very hard to contain my laughter until I was out of the room. He's such a cute kid.

He loves to play with all of his toys but his ultimate favorite is a burp cloth...thanks Mom for taking so much time to make them! He also enjoys his orange elephant that hangs in his carseat. It definitely makes getting him in the carseat easier, with less crying. It also keeps him content for a while since he no longer likes to sleep in the car. I guess content isn't the right word...maybe entertains is the right word, he laughs and squeals at it.

4 month check-up

Yes, I am a big slacker (according to my sister) but I think I'm just too busy playing with my adorable Gil that I forget to blog.

Gil had his 4 month well check on Monday. Everything went well and he is growing well...according to his pediatrician (and me) I have a perfect little boy. He weighs 15 pounds exactly and is 24 1/2 inches long. I think the nurse measured him wrong and should have said something at the time but I didn't think about it. I guess we'll see at the next check up.

Gil also got his second round of immunizations...such a sad day. He does pretty well getting the shots, he only cries until I pick him up, it's just after that is sad. He woke up the next day with a fever that lasted all day and didn't want to do anything but sleep all day. To top it off I think he got my cold I have so he's also sneezing and coughing. He seems to be feeling much better now though, he was back to his smiley and playful self today.

New Blog Author.

Hey, my name is Dani. I am Emily's sister. I have made myself an author of this blog since Emily is such a slacker when it comes to updating her blog. I know everyone is just dying to find out what Emily, Will, and Gil are up to...ok more like what Gil is up to. I will be posting more about him since he is definitely the cutest one.

This is Gil trying to help me beat his mom and dad at Wizards.
Last week we took a few pictures of Gil out at the Water Conservation Park in West Jordan.

He looks like he is going to punch my face...oh wait I'm not the one taking the picture, Emily is. Why would he want to punch his mother?

Maybe because he just spit up all over his favorite aunt (me) and his mom is documenting it. He doesn't want there to be any blackmail later.

Gil is now 4 months old and is doing really good. I will post more pictures and hopefully videos later.

Gil!

Here is an update on Gilead....for the last 10 weeks.

Just hours after he was born. He has red hair! One week. He was finally off oxygen! He still had the sticky things on his face...they were stuck on there pretty good.

2 weeks old. He liked to do weird things with his hands when he slept. He's a good sleeper, not much wakes him up. He stayed asleep through Will yelling while playing x-box, the vacuum,
and other loud noises.3 weeks. Our friends Fred and Kirsten gave us a a gift certificate to Kiddie Kandids and Fred took the pictures. They turned out pretty cute.
4 weeks. He's starting to be awake a lot more and enjoys play time. He started staring at the camera every time I tried to take a picture.
5 weeks. Gil started being awake more during the day and sleeping mostly at night. He also started going to bed early and waking up early.
6 weeks. My sister Dani took family pictures for us. Gil had a funny face in all of the pictures. He was also blessed in church this week.
7 weeks. He started smiling this week. Every time we try to capture it on camera he'd stop smiling and start staring at the light on the camera. He is now fitting into his 3 month old clothes.8 weeks. He loves bath time! He will spend over half an hour just splashing around and getting water everywhere. Gil is able to see the difference between me and others...he'll smile at me, follow me, and notice when I leave.
9 weeks. We kinda caught a smile. He started really liking to watch the tv this week. I think he really enjoys the bright colors. He watches basketball with his Grandpa every night.
10 weeks. We went to the air show at Hill Air Force Base. I don't think he enjoyed the noises too much. His face looked scared everytime a big plane flew by. Gil had his two month appointment and weighed 11 lbs 13 oz and was 23 1/4 inches long. We enjoy Gil so much. I love my little man! He is getting so big.
